Is this book perfect? Absolutely not.
Did I love every second of reading it? YES.
My rating system has really no rhyme or reason other than the fact I had to pace myself on this book because the 3rd installment won't come out until 2024.
Dianna has her humanity off, and she becomes the villain. I LOVED that twist for her! I loved her being uncaring and cruel (a nice shift from the men usually doing this) while Samkiel did his best to show his love, care, and literally seduce her back into the living. Their banter is TOP TIER. The sexual tension?! Off the charts.
And we got a nice inside look into Kaden's head, which was a surprising twist.
Now, I do wish this was written in 3 POVs TOPS (Dianna, Samkiel, maybe 3rd person?). We didn't need to see inside everrrryyyy person's head for one chapter only. Also Cameron?! JAIL.
That's all I'm saying. I'm on pins and needles waiting for book #3!
