Mountain Daddy
by S.J. Tilly
I really enjoyed this book! We briefly met the MMC Luther (Rocky) in the previous book as the owner of the local inn and bar. Kendra is the daughter of Luther’s best friend, and they happen to meet when she’s moving to Colorado and before they knew who each other were. They have a really spicy night and expect to never see one another again. Then they are reunited when Luther is at Kendra’s house for breakfast with her Dad.
I liked that Luther and Kendra didn’t swear to never touch each other again, or even stay away from each other. So many of these forbidden romance books have them fighting their feelings towards one another but that wasn’t the case in this book. They did sneak around for about 90% of the book though since they didn’t want her Dad to find out.
There is a 24 year age gap between Kendra and Luther, but with her being 32 it wasn’t super icky to me. That is still a big gap, but Kendra is definitely an adult and has experienced life on her own. I’ve never been a fan of the “Daddy” thing, but it was fine in this book. There isn’t an antagonist in the book, the conflict comes from within their relationship. I loved Kendra’s Dad’s reaction when he finally finds out about them. I’m looking forward to the third book in the series.
