Not only are the characters and premise delightful, but the book also includes some puzzles for the reader!
It's got a little mystery, some light romance, and humor. The book also explored found family, fellowship, embracing who you are, and thinking outside the box.
I've never read anything quite like this. It does shift between past and present and the focus of a couple characters like a lot of books currently do, but aside from that formatting choice (which works quite nicely for this plot), the book is so original.
