Wait by A.L. Jackson

5.0

From the little glimpses I had gotten of Austin’s story, I knew that when A.L. Jackson got around to writing his book it would be an emotional one. I thought I was prepared. I wasn’t. The journey that I was taken on was completely unexpected. Wait is another breathtaking, lyrical story about a broken boy falling for a broken girl and finding healing in each other. It will burrow into your heart and lodge itself in.

In order to break free of his big brother’s overbearing protectiveness; Austin Stone left home and hasn’t looked back. His past holds him captive, making him feel unworthy. He has made a lot of mistakes in his life. Large ones, small ones and they’ve cut him deep. Four years later, he could now be mistaken for his older brother’s twin but he still doesn’t feel like he can go home. Austin wanders the coast, playing his guitar in small venues. Edie Evans has her own secrets to keep. And she once entrusted them to Austin but he betrayed her. But walking into a bar one night, their presents collide with their past and they are face to face for the first time in years.

This book draws you in, the twists and turns keep you guessing and wondering what’s going to happen next. There’s mystery, drama, and heartache. Be prepared for a rollercoaster of feels. You’ll feel them all. It’s like a summer storm, absolutely breathtakingly beautiful to watch but devastating all the same. If you love rockstar romances, second chance romances, friends to lover romances—okay...if you just like romance novels, read this.
