I was recommended this book about a year ago by a coworker at my old job. The idea of "The Crucible mixed with True Grit" was something that really intrigued me, especially after playing through Red Dead Redemption 2 for the first time this year. Sadly, this book didn't even come close to how Rockstar Games painted such a vivid picture of being an outlaw in the Wild West. While the plot started out really appealing and made me as the reader really empathize with Ada, the ending was way too rushed which made it underwhelming. The concept was great, but there could've been some improvement in terms of the execution.
