The Outlaw Noble Salt by Amy Harmon
5.0
The book was a heartwarming adventure that had so much: storytelling, redemption, and love. It follows the main character, Noble Salt, AKA Butch Cassidy. He's a broody outlaw on a journey of self-discovery where he's caught between his past crimes and present self -- Think "bad boy with a heart of gold" vibes.
He finds himself crossing paths with a fierce, independent woman who challenges him in ways he has never been challenged. They have a slow-burning and deep emotional connection which creates the backbone of the story. This is not a story of an "all-out, burning, passionate love" but one of moments of intense chemistry and quiet intimacies.
This book had all the tropes:
- found family
- bodyguard romance
- forbidden romance
- fake marriage
- slow-burn
- only one bed
I loved how Amy Harmon was able to transport me back in time. Her writing is beautiful and song-like which makes this book so easy to read, and with the multiple POVs, you really get to invest in each character.
