From the beginning, I was hooked. The Heart Of The World was so magical and such a great sequel to The Isle Of The Gods. It is such an adventurous book with Selly and Leander's blooming romance, Jude's journey to become a better person, Laskia discovering her self-worth, Keegan's conflict with his father and his arranged marriage. Not to mention two of their gods waking up. This tale of love, sadness, adventure, war and hope had me never wanting to put it down. The plot alone was thrilling, having such high stakes, but I also loved how detailed all the characters were. With the different point of views you could really tell what each characters thoughts and feelings were on everything that was happening. I was captivated by how all of the characters each had their own moments of self discovery. Amie Kaufman really brought me through a roller-coaster of emotions with this story, taking me through heartbreak then to laughter within minutes. A perfect finish to this engrossing duolgy, this book is definitely going on my favourites list.
