The Beast of Beswick
by Amalie Howard
This had the full recipe of everything I love, but it just didn't completely hit the points I wanted.
I liked both characters, but for many moments I felt like it was dragging on. I think that Astrid was a really strong character and oftentimes it felt like she was just barreling through everything while I read. Thorne was delightful and I loved how reclusive he was.
Overall the plot just became a little TOO much for me. I wanted more of them having to interact less saving the sister from the evil man.
I'm excited to read the sequel and more by Amalie though. She has a great writing style and voice.
