Migrations by Charlotte McConaghy

4.0

this book made me inconsolable for hours after i read it. i love this book. the writing was beautiful, albeit a little clunky at times, and the side characters were incredibly engaging, a real highlight of the novel. i was not super engaged in the romance to be honest, but straight romances tend to have that effect on me LMAO

the thing i love the most about this book is how it explores the feeling of shame, and how we destroy ourselves because of it, and finding a reason to keep going in spite of it, and finding hope in a community and oh my god this book is so good. loved the irish pride too. crazy that this is a debut, will definitely be reading more of mcconaghy's work
