In the United States of Africa by Abdourahman A. Waberi
3.0

I read the French version, and while the book had a fascinating concept—a world where the Global North and South are completely reversed so that it is Africa and Asia who are rich and North America and Europe that are now the "third-world" countries full of racism and desperate migrants—I wasn't satisfied by the execution. I think it would've been more interesting to see more of Africa versus following a white French girl raised in Africa back to France, and the 2nd person POV was a little confusing and only made the book seem more fragmented/disjointed.
