Oh my goodness!

I can't even!

This book you guys...

Soooo freaking good!!

I did not except to like this book as much as I did. Honestly, I loved it. The journey, plot, and so many revelations!!!

I was never really a big fan of Chaol but I think that has changed now. I adore him. He is kind and loyal and so so strong. His journey was inspiring and portrayed really well. He had to choose to give in to the darkness living in him or rise above it. He was obviously upset about the injury but still willing to try and get better. And the way it ended for him. Oh god. I was bawling! But still pretty happy with how it turned out. I know a lot of people won’t agree with this but I feel Sarah J Maas did justice sharing the disable aspect of Chaol’s story.

“And I am as much of a man in that chair, or with that cane, as I am standing on my feet.”

The character that I instantly fell in love with was Yrene. She had suffered and suffered and suffered some more. She may not have fighting skills but she is kind, compassionate, and all things good. Also, my love for Nesryn grew in this book as well. She is fierce and her journey was amazing too. I can’t go into it without much spoiler but just trust me.

More things I loved about this was getting to know this new empire. It felt like home from the get go. The palace, Torre, rukhin, royals, and healers. Oh the royals! Kashin is sweet and gentle. Hasar is wicked. Arghun is cunning. And my favorite, Sartaq. Add him to the never ending bookish crush list. And his ruk, Kadara. Can I say Kadara and Abraxos will be best friends? Well, they will be. Don’t tell me otherwise.

All I know is Sarah J Maas did it again. She rocks my world with her god damn books. Who would have thought I would love Chaol’s novella this much? Certainly not me. But this has just made me excited for the final book. War is coming upon us and I cannot be more ready!
