I actually give this book 2.5 stars. However, I did not read the first book in the series- I didn't realize that there was a prequel when I picked it off the library shelf. Having said that, when starting this book I was, and still am a little confused on exactly what the Trappers do. It was also a slow beginning, especially not knowing the history but definitely picked up towards the end. After reading this one, I am still unsure if I will go back and read the first book, or continue the series.
