Cash by Jessica Peterson was a mixed bag for me. Mollie has just inherited her estranged father’s ranch. She has every intention of selling it. Cash is the foreman of the ranch and he was under the impression that the ranch was going to him. Mollie and Cash immediately hate each other. Turns out the will stipulates that Mollie has to live on and run the ranch for a year before she inherits. When Mollie moves in, Cash tries to make her life hell. As they spend more time together, they come to find that they have more in common than they thought. This book bored me for the first 100ish pages. I remember thinking that if I had to read any more about this dead dad, I was done. It dragged at the start. It picked up and started getting good. I smiled through the whole dance scene at The Rattler. Then it got toxic and gave me the ick at times. I really disliked several things about the first spicy scene. I hated how they barely knew each other and he already wants to get her pregnant. There were red flags that I struggled to find romantic. I liked how it ended, though, and had fun overall. I felt like this author definitely knows the south. The way the characters talk is like what you would hear in the country. I will read the next one and see how I feel about it. 3/5 stars for this cowboy romance.
