Maybe I’m a hater but…

Bo is almost too perfect of a golden retriever boyfriend, setting the bar to an unrealistic (and needy) standard. But honestly, Wyn left a lot to be desired as a female lead…which made me a bit confused as to how Bo fell so in love and was ready to move her in, give her money, invest in her ideas, etc after she spent majority of the book keeping him at a platonic arms length. In most scenes, we get a near-never ending internal monologue of Wyn trying to protect her heart after being hurt by her ex and immediately assuming Bo was not over his ex, when she literally could’ve asked him. There was less outward communication with Bo as a result. I’m also a bit drained on grown female leads scraping by on minimum wage paying jobs and a low-ish quality of life, only to be scooped up by a well off finance bro who happened to invest a wealth of money into stocks or something else, so they have a ton of free time.

There were so many opportunities to make the plot more complex or explore more character depth, add some actual conflict—but the plot remained mostly surface level after the first several chapters and scene setting and context. Overall cute concept and cute read if you need something light.

Also when we finally get more spice at the end of the book, we’re shown this random dominant side of Bo that felt almost OOC imo.
