Tempting the Prince by Christi Barth

4.0

I've struggled with what to rate this book because I thought it was better than a 3 but not quite a 4. 3.5? 3.75? This was a charming conclusion to the Sexy Misadventures of the Royals trilogy, but it left me wanting more. First, I felt like I was missing the sexy banter and sexual tension that Barth does so well. The fact that Mallory and Christian sleep together in the first chapter threw me for a loop, especially after Mallory being absent in the second book. I felt like we were missing part of their attraction and the fighting of that attraction that we saw with the first two books. I did enjoy seeing them together as a couple and I felt that those scenes worked really well. Perhaps my favorite parts were getting more of the interactions of Christian and Elias and Mallory and Kelsey. I would've loved more Genny and Theo and it wasn't until the very end that we got to see the six characters interacting with each other. I loved that Mallory stood up for herself and what she wanted and even that she put the kingdom first, which if you ask me proved beyond a doubt that she will make a perfect queen. I still feel that the first book is my favorite in this series, but I was happy to finally get the story I've been waiting for since the beginning of the series. This was the perfect bedtime book to finish off the month.
