The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
4.0

This book make me sad, because I get it and thats not good hahaha. I feel so bad for Sylvia plath knowing that this is similar to what she went through in her life before she could not go on. I know it's the "sad girl" book but honestly I loved it, and I get it, as I'm sure most people can on some level if they have ever suffered with anything mentally.

Also people say she's nasty and like she's a manipulator??? Maybe I missed it but I didn't read any of that, she was just mentally unwell and just didn't give a shut anymore?? Most of the time she hated herself and hated others without them really knowing. Esther is so concealed and quiet as a character. The only things I will say to me count as a horrible person is her mention of race multiple times referring to negative things and that of homophobic opinions. She wasn't a manipulator though I would just say that unfortunately people were like this at the time and just cause your mentally unwell and have the ability to want to k*ll yourself doesn't mean you care for others, like I disagree with all the shit she said but unfortunately Sylvia probably had these horrendous opinions. But she's gone so....
This is why I ain't giving it 5 stars cause it is problematic simply because of those views. But focusing on plot and her journey I loved it and wish I didn't relate to some of it
