The world building was great and it was nice to discover all the magic rules. But the book was so slow and a lot of time was spent on things that weren't very plot relevant and I still have some questions left unanswered.

Tea is reminiscing about her past for the majority of the book and we barely know anything about the present. I was more interested in how she ended up exiled, than her memories of how she trained to become an Asha, but the present was barely mentioned. I'll probably keep reading the series because the book ended on a cliffhanger
and i want to see what happens now that she raised all the daevas.

I listened to the audiobook version and didn't really like the narrator, she got very loud sometimes and made Tea seem more childish than she really is.
