Married to a Pirate by Athena Rose

2.0

Had so much higher expectations for this book after seeing a few videos on TikTok about it. The premise was interesting so I give it stars for that, but every thing else was less to be desired. It was so fast paced that it felt like the author was just on a speed run to get the book done. The world building was lacking. The romance was okay. I loved the whole “you touch her and you die.” Vibe with the pirate captain. There wasn’t much smut as TikTok leads you to believe. The sex scenes lack any real description and are over before you know it. The pirate captain just happening to be the prince’s long lost brother felt like a random plot that was added to make the story more interesting, but it fell so flat. Definitely wasn’t my cup of tea.
