The Illiad is already a heartbreaking story of pain, ego, and love. This retelling put so much feeling into every page. I felt more deeply (and cried immensely) than when reading the classic translated by Emily Wilson. Madeline Miller has such a lovely writing style that pulls you in swiftly. Definitely worthy of a read, and as a non-scholar, I personally felt it kept to the plot points of the Illiad. 10/10 for me.
