Oh my heart! I love the way the Ellen can twist and turn her words and poetry into a well-spun tale! Her choice of wording, the pacing of the poetry, everything about it makes you want to eat it up, then lock yourself away because the world can be a cruel place.
This is the first book of hers I ever read and I have been hooked ever since! As someone who has never experienced anything like what is in this novel, and has never dealt with people in this sort of situation before, I can only imagine that what I felt reading this must be multiplied significantly in order to come close to what people in these situations really feel. It is beautiful, dark, dramatic and heartbreaking. Definitely worth reading at least once!
