A Lady of Persuasion by Tessa Dare

2.0

Okay, the only reason this got two stars is because Tessa Dare is brilliant and this is technically fine. That being said, I hated this book. I DNFed the fuck out of this thing. the Heroine is a mary sue to rule all mary sues and she's about as smart as a houseplant. The hero is about as smart as those houseplants that eat flies. He wants revenge for being jilted and he is shallow and empty and apparently madly in love with the mary sue. I kept thinking he was going to end up as the antagonist who bel would be rescued from, but I made it halfway and the "real" hero hadn't shown up. life is to short to finish books where you hate the main characters. I'm going to assume this is a fluke and Ms. Dare had a cold and wrote this while on benedryl or something.
