Against the Wall by Julie Prestsater

4.0

I knew I was taking a chance on an YA author writing an adult book, but I'm a teacher and I was intrigued with the idea of a book about teachers. I was SO not let down.

Prestsater really "gets it" when it comes to teachers and pop culture! It's SO true that we have to stay on top of things and usually end up sounding like idiots because we hear so much of it all day and end up emulating it when we're with other adults. I haven't read her YA books, but she obviously is in tune with the culture.

I couldn't get enough of the antics of Mel and Shel, the besties. I loved the dialogue, all the way down to the Friday Night Lights references, I was hooked.

This is a sweet little innocent love story that was a fun read, nothing too thought provoking or unbelievable, it was a refreshingly nice book!
