George's Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl

4.0

I'm sure I must have read this before, as a child.  But I couldn't say what my thoughts were at the time.  (Certainly, The BFG or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory held bigger sway).  Reading this as an adult though, wow.  There's a lot to unpack.  Of course there's the almost nonsensical list of products George puts into his medicine, and the shocking reaction his grandmother has to this, and the fact that yet again animals are thrown under the bus as George's father experiments...but overall, it was pretty enjoyable.  Sometimes when you're mean, you gotta have your just desserts, and I can get behind that, morally.  (Though, not to mention the fact that George's mother is distraught and then seemingly okay with her mother just like...disappearing/dying LOL).

George's Marvelous Medicine is a nice, short little romp, perfect for those interested in reading chapter books or, of course, Roald Dahl's more popular books.
