Birth of a Dynasty is a great first book in an epic fantasy. This African-influenced story is heavily leaning into Game of Thrones. There is a lot of death when this story begins based on prophecies, as it weaves the start of a rebellion in the kingdom. We start with young characters who need to stay the course until the time is right. Birth of a Dynasty is steeped in tradition. The audiobook is narrated by Adenrele Ojo, and her performance is amazing, bringing so many characters to life while capturing the pain these characters endure.
