FBI agent and public prosecutor race against time to find her kidnapped son. They're both strong, charismatic and competent people with past trauma. I really liked their dynamics and chemistry, and they match up very well. The romance ranks as one of the best ones in the series so far for me.
I liked the established attraction and mutual pining, how they acknowledge their feelings and support each other through their past trauma issues. There's not a lot of push-pull, which I appreciate. And there's definitely a lot of heat and sizzle between them, and I loved how gone he is over her. The suspense is super layered, and there's *a lot* going on, but it's well thought out.
