Four Dead Queens
by Astrid Scholte
Truly a 3.5 for me!
While the concept of this story was unique, there were a couple places I personally just felt things were cliché?
Maybe I am growing out of the YA genre but I truly feel as though a 'spunky protagonist who is also a criminal to feed her family' trope is starting to wear on me. That is not to say I didn't appreciate and enjoy the mystery that this novel finds its basis in, and I LOVED the worldbuilding of all four kingdoms! I wish we had gotten more of the individual queens, especially since this story is centered in part around them.
