The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

5.0

Was really eye opening to re-read the Hunger Games as an adult and not a 13 year old.

It feels somehow more horrific that kids are being forced to kill eachother for entertainment because i know more about the world and how it works now.

I felt every single emotion possible for Katniss during this reread that maybe I wasn't aware of when I originally read the book and when I listened to it afterwards.

This re-read also made me realise how much responsibility Katniss had at home. Namely, towards Prim and her mother. At 24 years old, I'm still not the breadwinner of the family (and not complaining) and still live with my parents in a comfortable life. Katniss has literally the opposite experience of my literally since before she was a teenager. It made me understand how she turned out the way she did.
