I really loved this book. It had vibes of The Pagemaster, Alice in Wonderland, The Wizard of Oz, and many many fairy tales all woven together. It was just what I wanted from a book like this. 

It would have been a true 5 star read if not for

the ending feeling rushed with the return of a character that then served no real purpose and the dreaded bury your gays trope making an appearance.

If you are looking for a dark fantasy adventure fairy tale type of story that is a quick read, I'd definitely recommend this one.
