A Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shannon

I loved it. Shocked that it felt just as good as Priory.

Okay adding to my review. I don’t think it left the same impact that Priory did, but I did spend 1/4 of the time with this as I did with Priory (one week vs one month). I absolutely loved the characters and felt more tuned in every chapter of this book, because in Priory I didn’t like one of the narrators. Some people didn’t like how many narrators there are, but I loved it! I think it helped with world building and made it feel well paced.

The ending was a little less satisfying in some ways than Priory, but it had to leave a wide door open for the plot of the Priory, which comes 500 years after this. The love stories in this one were AMAZING. Wulf was genuinely one of my favorite characters ever. His story finding his family was awesome.

Overall, I loved this. I am glad I made the time investment in both this and the Priory because it offered up a genre (of which I am not usually a fan) in a way that I loved. Great characters, detailed world building, beautiful prose, and fun story lines.
