“In all the darkness, in all the loneliness, you have been my one source of light,” he lamented as she began to come undone. “My soul will go to its grave with your name echoing in my mind.”

I came into this book journey blindly and it was the smartest decision I did this month. I did know know anything about this book so when I came into the world, I definitely did not expect to see the paranormal stuff. But I'm here for it. They did say this is in a horror book genre but I don't really see it, but okay. I can see the resemblance with Caraval being that there's two sisters and one of them is going to find the other so they join this competition. Let me say that the audiobook made the reading experience 100% better because Blackwell in that audiobook is just swoon worthy.

The world-building was a 3.5/5 while the romance was a 4/5. Plot was also a 4/5 because for a reader like myself who just reads for the vibes, it was pretty predictable especially the ending. It was a good journey nonetheless from how Ophelia and Blackwell first started -  enemies to lovers trope, btw. I'm sure the next book in the series will be fun considering it's Genevieve who's starring it. Although not sure how that's going to be because the first book was not much of a cliffhanger.
