Facing the Music by N. Slater

5.0

First, read books 1 and 2 of the series as past characters are entwined into the storyline for "Facing the Music".

N Slater had me in a chokehold with Embracing Darkness and Craving Vengeance. I was so excited to see that book 3 is more of the kid's story (Tia and Paval's) from their blended family. It was just as fast-paced as the other 2, but the storyline entwined the kids finding themselves (Self-identity), personal growth and love. I loved that Rhys and his men made a cameo appearance throughout the story, but enjoyed it being more on Tia and Paval and Cairo. Adding the addition of Cairo to the trio was a full-circle moment and made me so happy to see them living in their truths and loving who they love. The spice was a 5 (Nic can write some spice man!). Seeing both guys protect Tia from her mom was *Chef's kiss*. Overall, it was a really solid read that really showed that love and family can conquer all!
