Sounds Like Love
by Ashley Poston
Joni Lark is a songwriter living in LA. She’s written some popular songs for several stars. She should be at the top of her game, but lately she’s gone blank and can’t write. She decides to go home to Vienna Shores, North Carolina for the month. However, home is not the same. Joni’s mom was recently diagnosed with dementia, and her mom and dad have decided to sell the old music venue. In the meantime, Joni hears snippets of a song in her head. Then, she starts to hear a male voice. He can also hear the song. They decide to meet up in NC to write the rest of this song together, in the hopes that it will break the connection. Then, they would no longer be in each other’s head. However, Joni is surprised to see the person who has been in her head, and of course they develop feelings. I feel like the romance wasn’t too believable in the beginning, but then I started rooting for them. I really liked Joni and her family. Her mom was the best. I think it would be great if there was a book 2 that delved into her mom’s background and how her parents met.
