Delicious!
by Ruth Reichl
This book is an amalgamation of themes and novel types and everything is a cliche. I was so skeptical of the story and here are my main complaints:
Billie seems 12 and so I'm creeped out by her relationship
I would not have cared nearly so much about the letters if I were in her place, and certainly wouldn't have devoted months to solving an arbitrary treasure hunt about them. That is not cryptography. I agree with Lulu that Billie has no right or legitimate interest in her life.
Cocaine did not cause Genie to be hit by a car.
I liked the food talk and I was compelled by the book to see when I should start caring.
