: ̗̀➛ I picked up this book because it kept appearing on my fyp and explore page, so I decided to give it a try. It ended up being completely worth it because I enjoyed it so much! I never really admitted to myself that the accidental pregnancy/secret baby trope was one of my favorites until this book, which made me realise that it definitely is.
The story was written so well, and the connection between the main characters, TJ and Lola, felt incredibly real. Their relationship buildup was natural and believable. I also loved their son, Phoenix!! He was such a cute addition to the story, and I really enjoyed seeing the father-son dynamic play out. One of my favorite moments was how TJ made it clear to Lola that everything he did for Phoenix was because he was his son and not just to ease Lola’s burden. It wasn’t about “helping” her; he was actively taking responsibility and truly raising his child, not just babysitting.
I wish I could read this book again for the first time because of how much I enjoyed it. It was so intriguing that I ended up sacrificing my sleep (i started at midnight and finished at 5am lol that’s how hooked I was)
“If you could, would you take senior week back?”
“No. Taking it all back would mean not meeting you, and not meeting you would mean no Phoenix, and a world without Phoenix is a world I can’t imagine.”
