I Married A Naga

adventurous

I... quite liked this? I didn’t like the first one much, so I’m pleasantly surprised! I think it helped a little that the main characters have a bit more agency in this one than the first book.
I thought the snake-alien culture was fun to learn about and I liked how they made accommodations for the human heroine. Serena was strong without being obstinate and Szaro was thoughtful and understanding. It was nice to read a romance where the main characters actually communicate with one another. I liked that they bonded over their love of protecting the land.
The writing style still didn’t quite work for me — it was a little disjointed and could do with a good round of editing. But I enjoyed the story!
The illustrations were certainly... interesting. I can safely say that I don’t think you’ll enjoy this if you hate snakes.
