It is difficult to comprehend the books in this series, their content and their effect, until you read them for yourself. But let me say that this is so an experience worth having, especially if you yourself have any kind of connection to the aftermath of Brexit and British politics in general.
While I don't think I enjoyed this quite as much as [b:Autumn|28446947|Autumn (Seasonal Quartet, #1)|Ali Smith|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1456560519l/28446947._SY75_.jpg|48572278], I still thoroughly enjoyed diving once again into Smith's writing. Her style is deceptive in that it lulls you along with its seeming mundanity, but to get the most out of the story, you truly do need to pay attention to each and every detail, and when you do, you find a whole world is opened to you.

I love the concept of it, and the way Smith draws you into the season as much as the story. I can only hope that the rest of my winter reading is this evocative of this time of year.
