Deception Point
by Dan Brown
I took this book-on-CD on a road trip (13 hours one way, 11 the other) and I thought I might keel over while listening to it. Dan Brown uses four sentences where one would do the job, and over-explains everything to the point where I want to tear my hair out or scream "GET ON WITH IT" a la the Monty Python boys. The plot itself was mostly interesting, but I forgot the cardinal rule of Dan Brown - whoever looks to be the bad guy, isn't. At least that kept me awake during the last leg of my journey! Also, the audio book itself was simply horrible. It was 17 hours long, and could easily have been 9 if the guy had just talked faster. And for the record: "NASA" is not pronounced "Nassaw"!! This book also contained perhaps the most ridiculous sex scene I've ever read. Ugh.
