It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey is a sexy yet light-hearted rom-com, that is worthy of being made in to a television movie!
Party girl Piper throws the party to end all parties but ends up thrown in jail instead! Bailed out by her little sister Hannah, their step father decides that Piper is taking a trip from the glamorous lights of LA to Westport, little beach town, which is where the sister's mother and late father lived, not that they know anything about the place. Piper reluctantly goes, with her sister in tow.
Cue a comedy of errors where opposites attract, with a ton of miscommunications and misunderstandings, with the local King Crab boat captain Brendan, Opal, who has not left her home since her son died, and old man Abe, who Piper befriends.
I borrowed a copy of this book from Taunton Library and listened to it on CloudLibrary. I read this for prompt 19, a buddy read, for the 52 Book Club Reading Challenge 2024.
