The Hero of Ages
by Brandon Sanderson
Content warnings for genocide, torture, possession, self-harm, suicidal ideation, suicide pacts, death, depression, lots of fire injuries and burning buildings, arson, executions, sickness, lots of religiousness, mob violence, and probably several others that I missed.
This is definitely my favorite book of the Mistborn series, and a satisfying conclusion. The choice of four stars instead of five comes down to personal preference: the darkness in this book, particularly in the first part of book, is too much for me to enjoy. The second half of the book is delicious Sanderson world building to match Stormlight, though, with the same eloquence.
