I am a thriller girlie through and through, so I got excited when I saw this book.

Jessica Simmons is carrying a lot of weight on her shoulders from grief. Jessica’s mother was a victim of a serial killer known as the Magpie Man. He has killed 13 women and carved their number of death into them. Jessica watches her father grieve the loss of his true love and with her pain, she’s ready to do something about it.

She signs up for a casting call for a new reality show that records you all day, one day a week. There would be a total of 5 stars that each own one day of the week. Jess isn’t too sure why the other stars want to do the show, but her main goal is to draw attention to her mother’s unsolved case and to catch the Magpie Man. With people watching her every move, will she accomplish her goal or will she end up with a number carved into her dead body.

Now I should’ve know by the name of the serial killer that this wasn’t going to be it for me. This book had no business being this long. It was very slow and drawn out and I honestly had to force myself to finish. 144 chapters because each chapter is only 1-3 pages. I really wanted this one to be a win, but it just fell short. There were a few surprises that kept me interested but in the end, it’s a no for me dog.
