Hendrix is my favorite author, so I was pretty surprised when I noticed myself not enjoying this one as much. It is of course incredibly creative, witty, and spooky in true Hendrix fashion, but I just didn’t like the characters (unreliable and frustrating) and found the plot more bizarre than I had anticipated. I think I expected something more sinister and ended up with something that felt more campy, which just isn’t my favorite I’ve learned.
