Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell
3.0

Okay, so objectively speaking (or at least as objective as one can get in a review) I realize this book isn't very good. Being truthful, it isn't even good, full stop. Most of this book was just fluff, and the real important bits at the end felt more like set up or a prologue for the next book to come. There's no real story here, and unlike Carry On, Wayward Son doesn't have great character interactions to fall back on (speaking of - SNOWBAZ???? IN THIS BOOK??? heart been broke so many times).

But. BUT.

I don't know, to be honest. Despite all its faults and mediocrity, I liked it anyway. Maybe it's because I'm still riding the Carry On high? Maybe it's because of Shepard (I would kill anyone and everyone for Shepard)? I'm not sure. I'm going with my gut instincts on this rating, though.

Okay, yeah, it's been like only two hours since I've written this but I've just remembered that they made vampires canonically immortal (which is such a mind-fuck, because Baz was still aging after he got Turned?). The fact that Baz is immortal is terrible and I hate it almost as much as Baz would certainly hate it. For that very important reason: knocking it down to two stars.

After reading Any Way the Wind Blows and learning some very important information, it seems I should amend my rating.
