Oh my gosh this book kept taking my breath away. It's beautiful and heartbreaking and hopeful all at once. Paige is such a fantastic protagonist and I love seeing her character and relationships develop.
Having the first two books under my belt made me feel more familiar with the world and so I wasn't spending as much time trying to understand the incredibly detailed worldbuilding. I also can just see the growth in Samantha Shannon's writing which is wonderful. I enjoyed the first two books in the series but this one was just on another level for me. The pacing of the plot felt tighter, the prose felt more lyrical, my attachment to the characters significantly multiplied, and I'm constantly blown away by how the stakes in this series keep getting raised. Very excited but also very nervous to read The Mask Falling.
