i thought that i would hate the writing style of this book due to the lack of speech marks etc., but i found myself eventually getting used to it and actually appreciating it towards the end. i really loved the relationship between marianne and connell, despite how frustrating the miscommunications were, and both of their characters were so raw and real. the only problem i had with this book was that the short, basic sentences made it quite hard to imagine what was going on and it did drag a tiny bit at certain points, however after watching the show i found it so much easier to picture the scenes in the book, and would definitely recommend re-reading after watching
