I HATED THIS, I HATE JOHN GREEN, AND I HATE THIS STUPID MPDG TROPE.

Now, don’t get me wrong: I love a good commentary on the objectification of women, especially when it’s criticizing teenage boys.

THIS WAS THE WORST RENDITION OF IT.  The dialogue was atrocious and unrealistic; Alaska was the MPDG on crack to the point that it was unbearable…

“Y’all smoke to enjoy it.  I smoke to die.”

Really?  Seriously, is this what we’re praising these days?

At this point, you’d have to pay me MILLIONS for me to believe that Green can actually write women.  It reeks of, “I cant write women, so let me write them as a MPDG so I can at least profit off of it.”

The only characters I liked were Takumi and the religion teacher.  I’m not even able to say, “maybe this wasn’t for me” because this book should just be thrown in a fire and never seen again.
