Harley Quinn, Vol. 1: Hot in the City
by Amanda Conner
Everyone's favorite psychotic comic book girl gets her own comic series as part of DC's New 52. Issues 0-8 are collected here, and the result is a fun, rambunctious graphic novel that is sure to entertain those with a diabolical mind. Issue #0 is especially hilarious, as it features Harley talking to the artists, each artist getting a page to do with as he/she pleases. Harley's banter with the artists, trying to find her new look, is priceless. Once we get into the story, though, we learn that Harley has been given a place of her own, but she has to get a couple of real jobs to keep it. She joins a strange roller derby team and becomes a therapist at a nursing home. Harley Quinn...a therapist... Let that sink in for a moment! Meanwhile, there's a price on her head, and every low-grade hit man in the city is out to get her. There's a lot of fun to be had here, if you're into this sort of thing...which I most definitely am!
