GREAT SANDMAN REREAD 2015!
Neil Gaiman treats his characters like semi-precious stones, picking them up and examining them, placing them back down again only to pick them up later. And so we get the continuing story of Unity Kincaid, which climaxes in an event that threatens every conscious being on Earth but isn't even the best part of this book. The best part of this book is the entire segment devoted to Hob Gadling, the suddenly immortal scoundrel that meets Dream every 100 years in a pub for drinks. That story is one of two things that stuck with me very clearly beyond my first read of this book year ago, the other being the Serial Killer Convention. That was weird and grody.
