I cant think of a better villain origin story because it never once shies away from these awful tendencies Snow always had, but constantly emphasizes his choices and his unwillingness to let the love of others IN and influence him for good. So the reader never sympathizes per se, but is instead investing by hoping he does the right thing. Suzanne Collins, you really are that btch
