What an absolute joy this way to read. I knew I was going to love Ely and Alex the moment I opened the book. It was a refreshing look on the grumpy sunshine trope! Leonor Soliz does not disappoint. With a mixture of humor, care and a bit of spice, we get comfort each and every time.
Alex and Ely are probably one of my favorite couples. I didn't think it was possible but the way they're able to work through their flaws and accept each other for who they are really encompassed what a healthy relationship and conversations look like.
Alex, Liam's brother from Seeking Stars (go read it besties 😜), struggles with depression and Soliz takes us on a ride through how that can affect the day to day, interactions with people, ones creativity and ways to approach mental health. (In a healthy way. Truly this was done with such care.)
Ely, Ana's best friend and also from Seeking Stars, is our sunshine character, who tries to find the good in things. This doesn't mean blindly nodding along and being in a la la land. No, quite the opposite. While she does look on the bright side and keeps moving forward she understands the hand she's been dealt: being a plus size, Latine, woman in a generally male dominated field. And definitely meets Alex in banter and wit.
Highly recommend for the besties looking for a cozy contemporary read, with just a little spice. ☺️
