βπ πππππ₯π€: With this book, my emotions were all over the place. I thoroughly enjoyed this book from beginning to end.
Following Under the Mountain, this novel addresses some important issues. Feyre's change is both literal and symbolic of the horrors she endured there. Sarah J Maas in my opinion, did an excellent job expressing the true, raw, and real essence of trauma, PTSD, recovery, and healing. Feyre's transformation from a girl in need of rescue to someone who is strong and equal. Someone who can stand her ground is fantastic.
Feyre finally finds her place where she is valued, respected, and lovedβsomething she so well deservesβwithin Rhysand's inner circle. She has a range of emotions when she eventually returns to her town and first encounters Nesta and Elain as a Fae. Elain is still incredibly polite and apologizes to Feyre for the past, while Nesta is still set in her ways, hardened. (I hope we find out more about this.)
Not to mention the moment Feyre learns that Rhys is her mate from the Suriel. Mor bringing Feyre to the cottage. Feyre painting her feelings. Finally letting off some steam through her love of art. Rhys showing up telling his story of him realizing she was his mate and falling in love with her, themβ¦well π€.
Ugh. All in all I loved this book so much and knowing Iβll never see Velaris in person? Thatβs a CRIME. But we can get into that another day.
